Speed kills II

Our bus lane is missing two of its new lampposts as you can see.
According to the locals it was a taxi at 3 o' clock in the morning. And by taxi I mean one like that white van thing in the background (for you overseas visitors).

Night fog

After leaving my favourite restaurant/take away/bar/pool table/slot machine establishment I took some time to appreciate the bus lane. Henceforth known as the bus lame.

Bus lane:1, scooter riders:0

A while back, this young man whose name I don't know and can't find was on his way home from his night shift.
One of our fine upstanding taxi drivers rode over him and then carried on going.
Fortunately some members of the public chased him down and pulled him over 2 km up the road.
And the worst part about it? I see more taxi drivers doing exactly the same (illegal) action every single day.
And not a traffic cop in sight.

seen on the streets of North End

The recovery bus, towing a broken down bus.
And in 8 o' clock traffic nogal

A rare sight

The main drag, including our brand new bus lane. It's never normally this empty. Mind you it was a Sunday morning.

Now wait a minute..

My first shot of our new BRT (that's Bus Rapid Transit) lane!
And what do we have? A local taxi using the unopened lane.
These guys are so keen, someone should give them a medal, it's a pity the rest of our citizens couldn't show this level of enthusiasm (o.k. I'll knock off the sarcasm now, it was fun while it lasted though, wasn't it?)
